Verdant, “green with grass or other rich vegetation.”

v—The vast expanse of a spectacular field is a 15-minute bike ride from my house. Behind a simple, weathered fence, the land bursts into life with every shade of green imaginable. During the months of May to August, the air is especially fresh, and the scenery is especially breathtaking. At 9:00 PM, the sun dips towards the horizon, and the world turns from green to gold.
v was created over a year ago to capture the beauty in the warmer seasons: tall grass swaying gently in the breeze, warm sunlight playing puppets on the cement, wildflowers peeking out from the green carpet…
Thank you, Morouje, for being the most vibrant editor I know. Thank you, v team, for seeking out the pieces that reflect the beauty of these sun-kissed months. Thank you to our contributors for bringing the richness of these seasons to life. And thank you, our readers, for sharing this beauty with us.
v's new issue is a lush collection of six poems, five pieces of prose, and two works of creative non-fiction. Each and every one is an exploration of “green with grass or other rich vegetation.”
Enjoy.
